"Suits you, Sir!"

Showing my age. Fellow Fossils will know the programme...

Threw a black sheet over Smoke to get a feel for the proposed satin black treatment. Tough. I like. A lot.

Got me an Über-stout motorsport brace.

Bought a pair of pointe shoes and taffeta ball-gown gloves. Dusted off the FlameCrusher and 'clava. Admired the Diablo Shoei. Awesome graphics. Will be a real shame to smear it all over the tire wall/armco/big tree/truck...

L8R, Ladies and Germs. Beer to imbibe. G.

Forgive me, Father.

For I have sinned. It has been 3 months since my last boast. Bad Gaz.

Smoke has been sitting under cover while life's monkey has been flinging gibbon poo at me. But I've managed to sneak out to the garage periodically, make loud noises, break things and swear a lot.

Coils have been mounted on the intake tracts. Tidy. Custom-made 8mm Mallory ignition leads fitted. Quick release fitted under the 'wheel. Moves it back a way but this is a bonus as the Catherhams rise up 'under-thigh' and the wheel has now been positioned back away from this 'ridge'. I'm only wee so the closer wheel is not a problem. Anyone over 5'8" is a freak of nature in my book. The twin methanol/swirl tank has been finished and should be winging it's way from Indianapolis any day. Go Donny! Front wheel speed sensors mounted. The rears were a complete mission (read 'b!tch') but after three attempts my CNC man deciphered my wildly waving arms and animal grunts, coming up with a perfect 3-piece segmented timing wheel. The Motec hall-effect sensors mounted nicely on a bar mounted to the back of the R200 nugget. The charge-cooler radiator was fouling with the push-rod arms on full wheel movement, so I spent some time modding the original side-panels and rear bracket to lift the front of the rad, giving ample clearance for the FPS fittings, water hoses and arms. Solid. Replacement headlight arrived from the UK. H3 HID kits arrived. Bright. Went for 6000K for super-white. New trailing arms arrived from Frasers to replace the bent ones. Don't ask. Something to do with me inadvertently using the arms to support floor jacks. I am such a dumb arse. Hydraulic 'drift' hand brake arrived. Trying to find a home for it. I'd like it sticking up vertically next to the gear lever, but there is no room. Thinking, thinking, thinking. 1/2 way through fitting the fuel lines from the tank to the fuel rail/regulator. The wiring looms and I are still staring menacingly at each other from opposite sides of the garage.

The Emperor's New Clothes...

Stripped off the protective plastic from the bonnet to get a better idea if the whole 'carbon/polished' look is going to work. Consensus ~ yep.

More carbon goodies, Turbo Valve etc.

Dash and sill protectors arrived. Cheers, Tristrams! The car is starting to look pretty darn special. I also have a pair of Caterham CF nose cone canards that I will stick on. Mmmmmm, sexy. Designed to push air flow away from the front suspension. Effective? Who cares, more CF is always better! I am so shallow.

Carbon nose and rear seat bulkhead in CF and I can remove all of the fibre glass. Polish the alloy, hey presto!

Batt/Ign kill switch (yawn) and a Motec/Delco turbo pressure valve are the latest additions to the growing pile of parts to be installed. After reading the DTA ECU manual backwards and sideways, all of my research into flash boost controllers is now in the recycle bin, as the DTA has full electronic control over this simple pressure release valve plumbed into the waste gate vacuum lines. Too simple. NZ$100. Sorted. Chatted with Richard at MSEL and he confirmed that I can run a simple 'Y' connector from the twin Tial 38s to the pressure valve. The ECU then simply opens the valve and vents pressure back into the intake tubing prior to the throttle body. SImple.

Outside!

YES! This is the 'look' that has been rattling around inside my empty cranial cavity for a couple of years. Finally there with the addition of the latest parts. Happy Gaz.
